Welcome to In Memory of Jeremy Brett! Our new website and pages are dedicated to remembering the legacy of the talented British actor best remembered for his outstanding portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. This website aims to present a portfolio of Jeremy Brett’s work, ranging from a Biography to a full Theatre Index and Filmography.  It will also include, over time, quality fan art and a guestbook.  As we have opted for a portfolio presentation, many photos of JB are already included.  Therefore, this site will not contain a Photo Gallery, because to do so would be to duplicate what is already here.

In Memory of Jeremy Brett was born from the BAFTA 4 JB campaign, founded in March 2010. The campaign had the sole aim of obtaining a posthumous BAFTA Award for Jeremy Brett.  Largely based upon an online petition, which amassed almost 3400 signatures over it’s two year existence, our efforts were supported by many well-known actors of screen and stage, including Sir Michael Gambon, Ralph Fiennes, Dinah Sheridan, Roy Hudd, Christopher Plummer, Martin Clunes, Dame Judi Dench, and Edward Hardwicke.  Unfortunately, these efforts were unsuccessful in obtaining the award which many still feel Jeremy richly deserved.  This website will eventually detail this campaign, as well as previous attempts at having Jeremy recognised for his work.

During construction of this website, we have, when possible, gained permission to publish various materials from their owners.  This applies mostly to photographs, but also to text when it was not in the Public Domain.  For this reason, right-click-to-download is not possible.  Where consultation with the owners has not been possible, we have made the best efforts to find the correct sources for inclusion in our Content Notice.  In both cases, all information has been included in the Disclaimer.  Please note that the Disclaimer is still under construction, but shall be updated constantly.

Whilst our efforts to remember Jeremy Brett through this website are supported by some of his family, friends, and fellow actors, we are not in a position to contact said parties for you.  If you would like to contact Jeremy Brett’s son David, or any of the actors who supported BAFTA 4 JB, we advise that you do so through their agents.

If you own a Fan Site or a Forum, and would like to list us amongst your Supporters, please contact us beforehand.
